Mr. H. J. Ashton, New Plymouth, is visiting- Wellington. Miss M. Jlodder, Hawera, is visiting Kohuratahi.
Dr. Steven, Stratford, is visiting New Plymouth. Mr. E. P. Beauchamp, Wellington, is spending a holiday at Hawera. air. and Mrs. G- T, Francis, of Sanson and formerly of Tokaora, are now on a visit to the Hawera district. Mr. and Mrs. J, L. Saunders and family, who have been the guests of Dr. and Mrs. Saunders, Eltham. left on Wednesday for their home ip Wellington. The annual meeting of the Waitara Municipal Band was held on Wednesday night, the Mayor (Mr. E. A. George) presiding over a fair attendance. The elec-, tion of officers resulted as follows: Patron, |he Mayor (Mr. E. A. George) ; president, Mr. T. Taylor; vice-presidents, Messrs. J. W. Hamlin. A. Rawles. H. Wells, S. G. Smith, M.P., P. J, Alien, J. Parry, C; Gaustad, F. W- Richards, and the Revs. J. H. Combes, G. Cavin and McGregor; hon. secretary, Mr. H. J. Smaill; band committee, Messrs. P. Taylor, I .Antonovic. D. Lang, H. McDavitt, and H. J. Smaill; auditor, Mr, G. Bird. Mr. C. Sampson was appointed bandmaster. The Rev. H. C. Stuart and Mrs. Stuart, of ’Wflverley, are spending their holidays in New Plymouth. Mr. and Mrs. M. McGarry have returned to Eltham after a trip to Wellington. -
