FATALITY AT LEVEL CROSSING
TWO KILLED NEAR HAMILTON WITHIN 100 YARDS OF HOME (By Telegraph—Press Association.) Hamilton, January 1. A car containing five people, who were returning from their holidays, was within 100 yards of home at Horotiu, when it was struck by the RotoruaAuckland express this afternoon, and Mrs. Alice Armstrong was killed instantly. The ear was driven by the busband and contained his young daughter and two lady relatives named Howse, of Auckland. All were seriously injured, and Miss Violet Howse died on the way to the hospital; The crossing is a bad one, being approached by a rise oh which there is a considerable, amount of noxious growth, which obscures the view of the line until within a few yards of the crossing.
