MOTH DAMAGED
ACCIDENT TO MR. MILL’S MACHINE
By Telegraph.—Press Association. New Plymouth, December 20.
Damage to one wing was suffered by Mr. Douglas Mill’s Moth aeroplane when it landed at Bell Block aerodrome this afternoon, and it is understood the machine will be held up here till a new wing arrives from Melbourne.
On arrival from Auckland, en route to Hastings, Mr. Mill taxied too far across the ground and struck a gorse hedge with one wing, while the other swung round and struck a fence post. Neither Mr. Mill nor the mechanic (.Smith) was injured. The machine was wheeled a mile down the road and housed in a shed.
