FIRES
DESTRUCTIVE OUTBREAK AT ROTORUA. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Rotorua, December 20. Last night a fire completely destroyed the suburban farm homestead owned by Mr. R. D. Makgill. Mr. Makgill recently bought the farm from Mr. Harold Hardcastle, and during the day had taken in all his furniture into the house. While at Mr. Hardcastle's house, which is half a mile away, the new owner saw the house burst into Hames. Nothing was saved. Much valuable personal property, including silver and wedding presents, were burnt. The loss is very heavy. The insurances are not available.
