A well-known land-mark is to be demolished—Albert Hotel, Willis Street, Wellington. This well-known old Identities’ Hotel, having been purchased by a syndicate, will be pulled down early in the New Year, and a beautiful 200-roomed Majestic Hotel erected It) its place. This hotel has been one of the most populer ones for the last 50 or 60 years: it was refurnished by Messrs. Strange and Co., of Christchurch, by Mr. T. Ashman, who was their representative, no expense was spared ami the hotel was furnished elaborately. Everything is now to be sold by auction Withoutreserve, including some old magnificent furniture, a grand Blackstein piano, solid mahogany suites ami everything up-to-date. The auction will'take place to-day and to-morrow (Wednesday and Thursday) and will be conducted h,v the Doherty Auctioneering, Ltd.
