The death occurred at New Plymouth last night of Thomas Russell List, at the age of 19, who met with a rifle accident on December 8 whilst shooting goats on Mount Egmont (states a Press Association telegram). Deceased was the only son of Mr. T. C. List, of New Plymouth, and was a student at Canterbury University College.,
A Press Association message from Dunedin states that when endeavouring to start his motor-ear at the Wingatui racecourse yesterday, Mr. H. Divers, a well-known sporting man. was compelled to make a hurried exit. A tongue of flame was the only response to the pressure on the self-starter. The car was completely destroyed. It was insured for £5OO in the A.I.A. Office.
