This will be a cheque for £462 3s. (the students have already contributed £l5O to the fund), which will be presented to the Mayor by the head prefect. “I do not know of any effort that, has given me so much satisfaction and pleasure as the contribution by the college to the Mayor’s fund,” said the chairman, Mr. W. H. Bennett, at last night’s meeting of the College Board of Governors. "It Is excellent,” he said, “to see the students taking such an interest in civic affairs. When the art gallery and the museum is erected, that build >ig. in addition to our own college, will be the most prominent in the city. The students’ effort is a great credit to the college. I do not know of any effort by any college or institution outside individual subscribers that has appeared to better advantage than this college.”
