Including steamers now on the coast, the allotments of space for dairy produce shipments from mid-December to midFebruary total 791,094 boxes of butter and 314,889 crates of cheese. Of this huge quantity 533,669 boxes of butter and 285,469 crates of cheese are going to London, 49,000 boxes of butter and 26,000 crates of cheese to West Coast ports of the United Kingdom, and 205,42t> boxes of butter and 2920 crates of cheese to New York, Halifax, ami Panama. The heavy shipments to North America (exclusive of Vancouver) are a striking feature of this season’s export trade. For example, the C. and D. liner Port Curtis is taking 113.700 boxes of butter for New York and Halifax, the bulk of which, 97,000 boxes, has already been loaded at Auckland. The C. and 1). liner Port Wellington, sailing on December 31, is taking 41,449 boxes of butter and 15,889 crates of cheese, of which 23,000 boxes of butter and 1670 crates of cheese are for discharge at New York and Panama. The Federal liner Surrey, sailing on January 24, is taking 71,725 boxes of blitter and 1250 crates of cheese for New York and Halifax. The Federal liner Somerset, sailing on January 22, will take 49.000 boxes of butter and 26,500 crates of cheese for West Coast ports of the United Kingdom. Of the total allotment of 791,094 boxes of butter, 422,575 boxes, considerably more than half the total, will be loaded nt Auckland, big individual shipments from that port being 97.000 boxes in the Port Curtis nnd 88,000 boxes in the Tamaroa. Wellington loadings, including transhipments from Patea, Wanganui, and New Plymouth, will total 160,132 boxes of butter and 123,605 crates of cheese. Direct shipments nt New Plymouth will total 72.822 boxes of butter and 70,306 crates of cheese.. Tiie South Island shipments included in the latest space allotment total 76,795 boxes of butter nnd 70.838 crates of cheese.
