“The number of children who are attending at the baths, and learning to swim, is very encouraging, indeed.” said the Mayor (Mr. W. T. Strand), at last night’s meeting of the Lower Hutt Borough Council. It was reported that the children using the baths during the month totalled 1409 for November—an increase of about 250 on November last year.
“It seems an extraordinary thing to me to give a street more than one name,” remarked Councillor A. F. Roberts at last night's meeting of the Hutt Borough Council. The Mayor (Mr. W. T. Strand) agreed that the result was confusing, but said that if a street in the town bore only one name there would not be enough streets for the names of those concerned in the subdivisions.
