The Loyal Rose of Sharon Lodge, Manchester Unity, 1.0.0. F.. held its fortnightly meeting at its lodge room. Trentham, on Wednesday last. Bro. C. Boult presiding over a fair attendance. It was decided to send the sum of £2 2s. to a brother in distress, and £2 to Dr. Barnardo’s Home. Lodge honours were accorded Bro. Bell, D.D.G.M., P.G. Bro. R. K. Couper, and Sisters Bell and Couper, Bro. Bell suitably replying on their behalf. In the absence of the Grand Master, the D.D.G. M.Bro. R. Bell, assisted by I’.G. Bro. Couper, installed the newly-elec-ted officers. Bro. Bell, D.D.G.M.. addressed the N.G., V.G... I.P.N.G. and Past I.P.N.G. and P.G. BrO. Couper. the elect, sec., lecture master, ami guardian. The question of the surplus was discussed, P.G. Bro. Cropp presenting the report of the sub-committee. After a lengthy discussion, the matter was left over for the secretary to ascertain whether the amount of the surplus was likely to be altered. The suggestion of the sub-committee was to allocate £2OO towards the paying-off old members’ contributions prior to 1900, £l5O management, and £3OO as a nucelous for a new hall. Nominations for Grand Master, Deputy-Grand Master, and management committee, were sent in by the lodge. The next meeting will be held on Tusday, January 15, 1929. Before departing, Christmas and New Year greetings were exchanged.
