HOLMES DISQUALIFIED FOR THREE MONTHS By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurch, December 16. At a meeting of the Board of the New Zealand Trotting Association on Saturday night a further development took place in the Laplander and Free Advice case and the well-known driver, F. G. Holmes, was disqualified for three months. It will be remembered that at Otahunu meeting on November 17 Lilplandet deh by F. G. Holmes) and Free Advice (ridden by J. Bryce) finished first and second in the Stewards’ Handicap. After an Inquiry the judge’s placings were reversed and Holmes was cautioned. The owner of Laplander, Mr. C. Notdquist, appealed to the Trotting Association on Saturday. Mr. Notdquist appeared before the association in support of his appeal and the association decided to write to the Otahuhu Club to ascertain whether Nordqulst had been invited to be present at tlie inquiry and, if not to reopen the Inquiry. The association also decided, as stated above, to impose a penalty of three months' disqualification on F. G. Holmes.
