QUEEN MARGARET COLLEGE

ANNUAL PRIZE-GIVING CEREMONY Queen Margaret College combined the annual prize-giving and breaking-up party in an entertainment given at the college in Hobson Street last night. As the principal, Miss Wilson, explained, the evening had been arranged by the girls themselves, parents being the guests of the different school houses. She confined her remarks to wishing the girls well, and saying she hoped they had been happy at their school. Mr. Martin, who presided, said that Queen Margaret's stood very high in the estimation' of the public, and that that was due to good work of Miss Wilson and her staff. The school was also indebted to the chairman of the Parents’ Association, Mr. Clay. The attendance at the school had never been higher, and they hoped soon .to be able to accommodate more boarders. The prizes were presented by the Mayoress, Mrs. G. A. Troup, and then a programme was given by the girls. Scripture verses were recited by Katherine Hoby, and the school song sung by all. Carols by the girls were given with good effect, recitations by Nancy Wilson and J. Turnbull, and two Christmas plays. Form I gave two scenes, “We Three Kings of Orient Are,” and “Away in a Manger,” both being very beautifully done by the little girls. Form II gave a play, “The First Christmas Tree.”

The entertainment over, tlie guests were invited to view the school work, which was arranged in the class rooms. The guests of two houses had supper first, while the others were taken to the Christmas trees and received gifts from their daughters, and then the others were likewise entertained.
