The manager for New Zealand of the A.M.P. Society, has been advised of the death in Sydney on Thursday, oil Mr. Richard Teece, formerly general manager of the society, and until recently a director of the principal board in Sydney. The late Mr. Teece was a well-known figure in insurance circles all over the world.

Miss Margaret Bannerman and the members of her comedy company left for Sydney by the UTimaroa yesterday, en route for Melbourne. The death occurred at Dunedin on Thursday of Jlr. ’Thomas Begg, who was born in that city 73 years ago, and who, on one occasion, opposed the Hon. W. J. M. Laruacli for the Peninsula seat in the House of Representatives. In business life he was a director of the New Zealand Engineering Company, a well-known firm in the ’eighties. Among the sons of deceased are Dr. Andrew Begg, who is at present engaged in cancer research in London, and Dr. Araina Begg, of Pukekohc.— “Dominion” Special Service. Mr. D. Ardell, of the Internal Affairs Department, left for Auckland by the Limited express last night.

Captain J. R. Middleton, D. 5.0., R.N.V.R., Director of Naval Reserves, arrived in Auckland from Wellington. Mr. W. B. Lambie returned to Wellington yesterday after a flying visit to Auckland.

Mr. A. G. Seddon has been transferred to Invercargill from the managemetn of the Gisborne branch of the Standard Insurance Company, Ltd. He will be succeeded at Gisborne by Mr. S. G. Northe, of Napier. Mr. Justice Reed will leave by the R.M.S. Makura on Tuesday next for Sydney, en route for a tour of the Near East, including Java, Singapore, Burmah, and India. He will then make a complete tour of the British Isles and the Continent of Europe, returning to New Zealand via Suez in twelve months.
