BUCKLE STREET CONVENT

ANNUAL CONCERT.. The Concert Chamber wag filled on Thursday when the pupils of the Convent School, Buckle Street, gave their annual break-up concert. Maxwell and Betty MeMenamin opened the programme with a piano duet, "Grande Valse Brilliante” (Fr. Humtem), and then followed the chorus, “We Welcome You” (R. M. Harvey), A step dance by Jimmy Lockwood was the next item, and was followed by "The Chinese Umbrella" (C. Hutchins Lewis) by the junior girls and “The Birthday” (R. Huntingdon 'Wood) by the choir. A dance, "Boy Blue,” by Joan Mudgway and a duo dance by Joan Mudgway and Lomah McKircher were the next items, after which Sybil Lowry gave a humorous character recital, “The Quack Doctor.” Miss Helen Harte was the accompanists. The second half of the concert was devoted to the operetta, “Cinderella," in two acts. In the cast were Rima Martin, Mary Martin, Dolores Milesi, Cecilia Johnsen, Margaret Fitzgibbon, Norah Harrington, Marie Connole, Viola Sullivan, Kathleen Peters, Doreen Reid, Marie Eade, Sylvia Riggs, Betty McNamara, Ada Fary, Eileen Hanson, Lena AVakem, Winifred Hedderman, Vera O'Sullivan, Lewis Kilkelly, Ruth Grant, Kathleen Peters, Maisie Crowley, Norah Leahey, Betty MeMenamin, Imelda Peters, Mary Hanrahan, and junior girls. The operetta was well acted throughout, all the principals playing their parts with confidence. Mrs. McGurk was the accompaniste. At the conclusion of the concert the presentation of prizes was made.
