OTAGO SHOW
EXTRA PRIZE MONEY. At a recent meeting of the Otago branch of the New Zealand Friesian Association, It was decided to give £4 10s. prize money for the two-year-old class at the Oamaru Show, this being divided as follows:— £2 10s. first.; £1 10s. second; 10s. third. At the Dunedin Show it was decided to start a group competition, made up as follows:—Bull, 2 years old or over; cow, 3 years old or over. In calf or in milk: heifer, 2 years old, in calf or in milk, and a yearling heifer. Prizes for this group, £4, £2 and £l. which amounts the Otago A. and P. Association have agreed to subsidise to the extent of 50 per cent. A junior group class Is also to be started, the prize money for which is to be £2 10s„ £1 10s. and £l. while the Otago A. and P. Association will also subsidise this to the extent of 50 per cent. This group Is to be made up of a yearling bull and two yearling heifers. At country shows ft was decided that at Walkouaiti. Wnltatl, Palmerston South and Taieri to donate a gold medal to the best Friesian sire of the show provided a recognised Friesian judee awards the decisions In the Friesian section.
