PALMERSTON RETAIN TWO TROPHIES Palmerston North, November 24. The first of the series of bowls matches for the Dixon Cup and the Manson and Bar Cup was commenced to-day, at the Palmerston North Bowling Club green. The weather conditions were perfect, and the good state of the greens made play attractive, some good bowls being witnessed. The results are as follow:— Manson and Bar Cup: Palmerston North. —Nash, J. H., Stephenson, Brown, and J. A. Nash (s), 20; Manawatu.— Caldway, Davies, Kershaw, and Radford (s), 16. Dixon Cup : Palmerston North.—Jones. W. W., Paton, Nash, W. H„ and Crump (s), 24; Pahiatua. —O’Connor, Baitland. Britland, and Perry (s)), 12. MASTERTON GAMES Masterton, November 24. The following are the results of the games played by the B teams of Masterton Bowling Club, for the Booth Cup, against Greytown, at Greytown, to-day. Masterton players being mentioned first in each case:— A Welch, Hunter, Thompson, Chapman (s), drew with Maguire, McKenzie, Gregor, Carter (s) ; Brown, Reid, McKenzie, Wilkinson (s), beat Greathead, Webster, Rocke, Stent (s) ; Davey, Evans, A. Hendry, Neilsen (s), lost to Rees's team; Denbee, Dagg, Hayne, C. Perry (s), beat Loasby, Knell, Stringfellow, Day (s). PARK CLUB. A pleasant afternoon was spent at the greens of the Park Bowling Club this afternoon, when there was a good attendance of members. A match was played for the Daniell Cup, Taylor, Gray, Kilgour, and Vincent (s), 24, beating Butcher, Nix, Staniforth, and Carr (s), 13. \ In a match for the McEwan Ferns, Smith and Bell, 20, beat Braggins and Stevens, 14. The Ewington Badges also were contested, when Pinkney and Henry, 27, beat Rigg and Gibson, 16.
