COOL THEFT
CASH BOX STOLEN. Palmerston North, November 23. A “cool” theft of a cash box In the separator department of Joseph Nathan and Company, Queen Street, was compiitted by some person unknown about 10.30 this morning. It would seem that the thief walked into the premises when no one was in attendance, after having waited his opportunity, and opened a locked drawer with a key that was hanging on a nail. He then took the cash box by the simple measure of putting it under his arm and calmly walking out. The theft was discovered within a few minutes and the police were informed, but so far the cash box, which it is understood contained a little under £2, has not been recovered. Police inquiries are proceeding.
