REPARATIONS PROBLEM
ESSENTIAL AGREEMENT BETWEEN FOUR ALLIED POWERS WORK OF RECONSTRUCTION IN FRANCE (United Press Association.—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.). (Australian Press Assn.—United Service.) London, November 22. “The Times” Paris correspondent says that it is understood that inter-Allied conversations show an essential agreement between Britain, France. Italy, and Belgium concerning reparations.
M. Forgeot, Minister of Works, has issued a report indicating that the reconstruction of the devastated areas is now practically complete, and the Industries are now more efficient than before the war. M. Forgeot estimates the total cost to date at, roundly, a thousand millions sterling. The Budget estimate for 1929 includes a further £40,000,000.
