People who have never been out of New Zealand do not always realise what a lovely country they live in, said Cardinal Cerrettl when laying the foundation stone of the Mater Hospital’s new wing (reports the Auckland “Star”). “This beautiful fairyland of New Zealand,” was one of his enthusiastic phrases. He was recalling the pleasurable memories left by his visit of twelve years ago, and said how pleased He was to be able to see the country ouce more. “You have one of the most beautiful lands in the world,” he told the spectators; “you must love your land. When communications are better I can see the time when many thousands of people will come to visit you In your most lovely country.”
