WELLINGTON ROSE SHOW

The annual rose show of the Wellington Horticultural Society will be held in the Town Hall on Wednesday nex / - This, for many years the only show held under the auspices of the Rose and Carnation Club, still holds pride of place m the flower shows of the year. This has been an excellent season for the blooms, and record entries are anticipated. Growers from as far afield as Napier and Hastings have already made sure of space for comprehensive displays. Local suburban and Hutt growers report that their blooms were never better. A number of eups and trophies will be competed for. The Wellington challenge trophy valued at 50 guineas has been allocated to the class for the best 12 blooms, any varieties. The winner of this class may be said to bold tho blue ribbon of the rose world in New Zealand, and the display is sure to be exceptional.
