PICTON-CHRISTCHURCH ROAD
LOAN FOR IMPORTANT DEVIATION. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Blenheim, November 22. The Awatere County Council’s £10,009 loan proposal, for the Dashwood deviation was carried by a large majority. The work is estimated to cost £45,000, to which the Main Highways Board will contribute £30,000, and the Marlborough County Council £5OOO. The deviation will reduce the distance between Blenheim to Seddon, which is a section of the Picton-Christchurch highway, by 4J miles.
