CONVICTS ESCAPE
TUNNEL SCOOPED OUT WITH HANDS (United Service.) (Rec. November 20, 11.10 p.rn.) Warsaw, November 19. By scooping a tunnel thirty yards long and over three feet high with their hands, sixteen convicts escaped from the Grudzindz Prison, Pomerania, in a manner reminiscent of the Count of Monte Cristo. The convicts’ absence was not noticed for several hours. Some of the fugitives raided a tailor's shop and secured civilian clothes and then stole a motor-car. None have been recaptured.
