FIRE IN BOSTON TERRACE

DAMAGE TO A FLAT. The Fire Brigade received a call at 4.40 p.m. on Saturday to 9 Boston Terrace, a wooden building with an iron roof containing ten rooms. The house, a two-story one, is owned by Charles Remmers. who occupies the top flat, while the bottom flat is occupied by David Gordon Paris. Three rooms and the contents in the bottom flat were damaged by.fire and water, while a room in the top flat suffered slight damage, as did the contents, from heat and smoke. No insurances are available. HEAVY DAMAGE IN MOTOR-CAR STORE. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Timaru, November 3. A fire at an early hour this morning totally destroyed the interior of a motorcar store owned by Dominion Motors. Ltd., in Stratford Street. The damage amounted to hundreds of pounds. The store, on the second floor, was divided into two sections, one being for new cars and the other for second-hand cars. The fire had its origin in that part of the building containing new cars, ten of which were either destroyed or seriously damaged. The cause of the outbreak is unknown. The insurances on the building were £9250 in the Yorkshire Office, and on the stock £2500 in the Yorkshire. £9OOO in the Sun, and £5OOO in the Royal Exchange. The damage is estimated nt worth £lOOO.
