CAR OVERTURNS
SKID INTO VERANDA POST Palmerston North, November 4. About 9.30 on Saturday morning people in the vicinity of the Featherston Street-Rangitikei Street intersection were startled by the sound of car brakes being heavily applied, followed closely by the smashing of woodwork and glass as a sedan car crashed into a shop veranda-post and ended a skid of about 40 feet by turning over on its side. It appears that the sedan car, driven by a man named Jenkinson, of Wanganui, was coming down Rangitikei Line into town while a bread delivery van was proceeding east along Featherston Street. ; The vehicles met at the intersections and the sar swerved sharply to the left, and after skidding badly hit the verandapost, smashing It in half. The car was badly damaged, but neither of the two occupants was injured.
