DRUNKEN MOTORISTS
MORE SEVERE PUNISHMENT Palmerston North, November:3. In the Magistrate’s Court (this morning, when hearing a case wherein a motorist was charged witj) drunkenness, while in charge of a car,: Mr. J. L. Stout, S.M., gave a definite notification that in future he would'deal very severely with motorists found guilty of intoxication while driving. “This type 1 of case is getting altogether too frequent in Palmerston North,” he said. . “Whether it is because I am too lenient ! do not know, but if they keep on at the present rate I will have to impose terms of imprisonment instead of fines.”
