SEAMEN’S THREATS
AGAINST TOM WALSH Sydney, November 1. Yesterday afternoon Tom Walsh was compelled to seek a police guard of two detectives and one uniformed constable. Angry seamen had called out across the road to Walsh, “I’ll get you yet.” Walsh found that the office books had all disappeared to a branch office. He informed Fleming, the branch secretary, that he intended to have them brought back to headquarters. Fleming denied shifting the books to the branch office. (Rec. November 1, 10.10 p.m.) Sydney, November 1. Three hundred angry seamen marched six abreast through the heart of the city to-day, some voices exclaiming, “Where is he? Where is Tom Walsh? We will puli him to pieces.” The mol) was grimly bent on ejecting Walsh from his office, and was muttering excitedly. It aroused considerable interest amongst pedestrians.
