TO THE ANTARCTIC
THE WILKINS EXPEDITION (Australian Press Assn.—United Service.) London, October 31. Sir George Wilkins cables from Port Stanley on October 30: “We hade good-bye to civilisation when the Tlektoria to-day sailed from the Falkland Islands, her last port of call towards the Antarctic's scarcely charted sens. Our next landing point will be Deception Island, on the northern edge of the unexplored ice continent, where we go to harbour, to discharge our equipment, including our aeroplanes, and move afoot into the wastes in order to establish a base, probably well within the Antarctic Circle. All are in splendid condition.’
