RIFLE-SHOOTING
PETONE CLUB. The Petone Rifle Club will fire at SOO anil 900 yards at Trentham to-morrow. This shoot will be the first match in the Long Range Handicap scries, Flaws Cup, and Longfleld Handicap aggregate, and for spoons. Both short ranges are required by the military authorities. KARORI CLUB. Two matches of the club’s championship aggregate for the season have been completed to date. Both matches have been fired in difficult weather conditions, and Rifleman F. W. Ching, with scores of 85 at 500 and 600 yards, and 89 at 800 and 900, Is holding the leading position. The programme is to be continued to-morrow afternoon, when the third match of the championship will be fired at the 800 and 900 yards ranges.
