BRITISH LABOUR PARTY
THE NEW CHAIRMAN (British Official Wireless.) Rugby, Oct. 5. Mr. Herbert Morrison was, at Birmingham last night, elected chairman of the Labour Party in succession to Mr. George Lansbury. Miss Susan Lawrence, M.P., was elected deputy-chairman. Miss Lawrence will be the first woman to occupy this position, and in the normal course she will succeed to the chair after Mr. Morrison’s year of office.
