OBSOLETE GUNS
QUESTION OF REMOVAL Inquiry WM made by Mr. P. Fraser (Wellington Central) in the House of Representatives yesterday as to what the Defence Department proposed to do in rbgard to some obsolete guns and gun carriages which had been left on the land abutting on to Tasman Street. The Minister of Defence (Hon. F. J. Rolleston) replied that the original arrangement to have them covered with clay had for some reason miscarried. He had been informed that now they could only be removed at heavy cost. The matter was expected to be disposed of when the war memorial site question had been settled.
