Through the steering gear going wrong, a motor-lorry belonging to Messrs. W. D. and H. O. Wills, Limited, went over a bank about 150 yards from the Hutt Road, and fell about 14 feet into the Kaiwarra Stream about 1 o’clock yesterday. The driver had no time to jump clear, but he was unhurt. The lorry, which was empty, stopped with the front wheels in the stream and the rear wheels up the bank, and was not damaged. Shortly after 9 o’clock yesterday morning, J. O’Sullivan, who. resides at 38 Edinburgh Terrace, and who is employed by the Scott Timber Co., Cable Street, received a lacerated wound on the scalp, through being struck by a piece of timber which had been blown off a stack. He was taken to the hospital by the Free Ambulance.
