COMPASSIONATE ALLOWANCE
GRANT BY PARLIAMENT
Provision for the payment of a £3OOO compassionate allowance to Lady Sim. widow of the late Mr. Justice Sim, is contained in the Supplementary Estimates dealt with by the House of Representatives yesterday. Other compassionate allowances include the following: Widow of the late Inspector T. S. C. Kemp, £125; widow of V. L. Kroupa, late compositor, Government Printing Office, £140; widow of the late J. S. Clark, who was drowned in the Hutt River, £300; widow of the late M. G. Carmody, clerk, Government Insurance Department, Wellington, £B4. In the unauthorised expenditure section the following compassionate allowances appear:—Widow of the late Mr. Justice Alpers, £1500; widow of the late Mr. J. W. Poynton, S.M., £900; widow of the late Mr. J. H. Anderson, chief engineer, Porirua Mental Hospital, £64o'; widow of the late Mr. P. G. Morgan, Director, Geological Survey. £BOO.
