IN LAST MATCH IN SOUTH AFRICA THRILLING, SPECTACULAR GAME CLEVER, FAST PLAY BY BOTH SIDES The All Blacks’ last game in South Africa was a thrilling and spectacular one. and an excellent exhibition of New Zealand football. It was a close contest, the tourists winning by 14 points to nine. (Special to Press Association.) Cape Town, September 5. In a thrilling, spectacular game, played under the New Zealand rules, the AH Blacks beat the Combined Universities of Cape Town at Newlauds to-day. before a crowd of 15,000, by 14 points (three tries, one converted, and a penalty goal) to 9 (two tries and a penalty goal). It was an excellent exhibition of New Zealand football under rules finely interpreted by J. T. Burrows, of the New Zealand team. The game capped a great and memorable tour. Coming round on the outside, Lucas took his pass and raced over to score a brilliant try. Universities 9 All Blacks 9 Within a few minutes of no-side Lucas, with fine anticipation and quick opportunism, snapped up the ball, and beating two men he scored near the posts. Nicholls goaled. There was an excellent demonstration as the teams left the field.
