TRYING TO STOP BOLTING HORSES Sydney, September 4. An unknown, shabbily-dressed, yet plucky man tried to stop, a pair of bolting horses in the heart of the city, and had nearly succeeded when tlie shaft crashed into a taxi-cab. Tlie man was thrown under the horses" hoofs, and was literally trampled to death, his face being unrecognisable. Huge crowds witnessed the tragic affair. Another man secured the horses before they did further damage.
