TO-DAY’S WEATHER FORECAST.

Meteorological Office, Wellington, September 4, 4 p.m. The cyclone is now centred near Auckland and moving south-south-castwards. Pressure is falling also in the south-west lastnan Sea. Strong east to north winds north of Kawhia and East Cape, backing to southerlies later; elsewhere strong south-east to southerly winds, gale force being reached at times north of Westport and Kaikoura. Seas rough north of Hokitika and Akaroa, moderate thence southwards. Strongs southerly winds to gales and rough seas in the eastern Tasman Sea. Weather unsettled over all the North Island and extending to the northern and eastern districts of the South Island. Many heavy falls in the North Island. Some snow on ranges tn northern part of the South Island. Fine on most of the West Coast of the South Island and Otago and Southland.
