MINISTERS ARRIVE AT GENEVA ANGLO-FRENCH NAVAL COMPROMISE ITALIAN ANTI-PACT CAMPAIGN (United Press Association.— By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) (Australian Press Association.) (Rec. September 3, 10.55 p.m.) London, September 3. The Geneva correspondent of the “Daily Express” states that the Prime Ministers of Germany, Austria, Canada, Norway, and Greece, and twenty Foreign Ministers have arrived. Lord Cushendun’s statement has done much to remove the misunderstandings over the Anglo-French naval compromise, but the failure to publish the text is still causing anxiety. The latest suggestion is that although the agreement is purely technical, it does not tell the full story because it is intended to be followed up by diplomatic negotiations for a complete accord. Several speakers are expected to refer indirectly to the subject iu the general debate in the Assembly. Germany will support the small Powers’ demand for fixing a definite date for a disarmament, conference. Italy ,is now the fly in the ointment. France is most perturbed by last week’s Italian anti-Peace Paet Press campaign, following anti-French attacks. Only M. Briand’s sagacity prevented the presentation of a demand for .apologies for recent insults to France. ALLIED TROOPS ON GERMAN SOIL EVACUATION TO BE DEMANDED (Rec. Dr. Mueller has issued a statement that he will demand at Geneva the complete evacuation of German soil by the Allied troops.
