, ENGLISH TEAM TO PLAY IN CANADA Bv Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, August 3. ’ Following on exhibition games played in Canada by the New Zealand League football team when en route to England, the English League team at present in Auckland, by invitation, will play exhibition games at Vancouver and Montreal when on their way back home. Mr. E. Osborne, the team’s manager, stated today that he had had encouraging reports of the game’s prospects in Canada. It was hoped that League football would be firmly established in the big Dominion, thus ’enabling tonring teams from England or the Antipodes to have suitable playing areas all round the circle of their route. The financial and playing advantages were obvious.
