Pressure is low to the south-east of New. Zealand, while an intense anti-cyclone over Australia is advancing gradually eastwards. Moderate to strong west to south winds. Rather rough seas on the West Coast, and later south of Castlepoint, moderate north of Castlepoint. Moderate to strong south-westerly winds and rather rough seas in the Tasman Sea. Weather fair to fine in the central and the eastern districts of the North Island; elsewhere cloudy, with showers in most districts, but only scattered in the eastern districts of the South Island. Cold temperatures, with hail in places and some snow on the • high lands and in the south.
