BY-LAW AND CIVIL CASES

Cases involving the by-laws were dealt with by Mr. J. H. Salmon, S.M., in the Magistrate’s Court yesterday. Leaving his car unattended cost Roy Gregory 10s; Riding a bicycle without lights cost Michael Brookey £l. On charges of allowing stock to wander, Sidney Schuster was lined £2, George Huxford £l, and Walter Beavis 10s. Wallace John Elliott was orderd to pay 10s., costs only, for not having a tail light on a motor lorry. Sydney G. Cook, Hutt River Shingle Company, Edward King, J. J. Moore and Sons, William John Neman, Thomas Waugh, and Billy Wells were eaeh ordered to pay costs, 10s., for failing to obtain a heavy traffic license. On a similar charge, Albert Shelbourne and Charles H. Buchanan were each fined £2. Horace Luechisi was fined £1 for not having lights on his motor cycle. For tailing to keep as near to the left as practicable, James Gibson was fined £l. Gitano Mazzola was fined £1 for failing to stop o.i request. On a charge of speeding, Kenneth Mitchinsiiu was fined £l. For carrying two passengers on a motor eyele, Harold F. O'Neill was fined £l. Sing On Tie was fined £2 for failing to keep a poultry house clean. Harold Stead was fined £1 for cutting g corner. Permitting the use of a ear with defective brakes cost George F. Musgrove and James Wright 10s. each. "Alex. T. Gorrie was fined £1 for failing to have an efficient silencer on a motorvan.
