CORNWALL CUP CONTEST
OTAGO TO SEEK A RULING. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Dunedin, August I. At a meeting ot the Otago Yacht and Motor Boat Association to-night matters in connection witli the unsatisfactory decision arrived at in the last Cornwall Cup contest at Auckland were discussed at some length. The Takiiptina Boating Club forwarded a resolution passed by that body drawing attention to the rules of the Yacht Racing Association. The chairman of the Otago Association said that, it was apparent that the Takapuna Club was opposed to the association’s request for a ruling from the Yacht Racing Association. The Otago Association had asked in a fair and unbiased manner. In connection with the whole controversy he failed to see how the association could get any satisfaction unless it made an independent request to the Yacht Racing Association for a decision. A member said (hat in view of the attitude taken by the Takapuna Club the Otago Association should forward particulars to the Yacht Pacing Association. The public and the yachting fraternity would then know that the association had done its best to obtain a clear-cut decision. It was decided that. the Otago Association send the particulars concerning the sailing of the fifth Cornwall Cup racc-and the decision arrived at to the Yacht Racing Association for an opinion or ruling.
