THE SPANISH PLOT
STATEMENT BY DE RIVIERA (Australian. Press Assu.—United Service.) (Rec. July 15, 5.5 p.m.) Madrid, July 14. General De Rivera has returned. Questioned by journalists regarding the plot, he said the whole business wap finished. Small groups tried to stir up trouble in Barcelona, Valencia, and other districts in connection with the inauguration of the new Canfranc tunnel In the Pyrenees, but these were speedily crushed and their ringleaders were now in custody.
