SAILORS’ FRIEND SOCIETY
Full .enjoyment was pained by the senfaring ’ guests of Tanner's Orchestra nt their, concert at the Sailors’ Friend Society on Tuesday, when items of much merit were given, all leading to encores. The band was under the leadership of Mr. \V. C. Tanner. The performers were Mesdames Juries and de Berry, and the Misses Banasconi, Bothwell, and Messrs. Tanner, MacWhirter, Johnstone, Eaton, Draper, Claney, Edmund, Swift, and Master Quail “Give the Cause’’ was the title of Mr. Moore’s .temperance address. Pledges followed. Keen work was done by the men in the competitions for the prizes donated by the Victoria League. Reading matter was supplied to outgoing crews. #
