FIRE ON THE HAURAKI
SLIGHT DAMAGE DONE (Rec. May 13, 5.5 p.m.) Vancouver, May 12 A fire broke out ou board the Canadian-Australian and New Zealand motorship Hauraki. The fire was extinguished after the city firemen had descended the hold, wearing gas masks. The damage was slight. The vessel arrived to-day with a cargo of hides, lumber and paper pulp. [The Hauraki is the Union Steam Ship Company's only cargo motorship. She is a vessel of 7113 tons gross, commanded by Captain E. J. Norton. She was fixed to load at Pou ell Rivet, Union Bay, Ocean Falls and San Francisco for Auckland, M ellington. Melbourne and Sydney.]
