VOTES TO WOMEN
> CONSERVATIVES SECURE TRIUMPH OF CAUSE
(British Official Wireless.)
Rugby, May 11.
Addressing a mass meeting of women, in London, the Prime Minister, Mr, Baldwin, referred to the passing by the House of Commons of the Bill giving votes to women at the age of 21 on the same terms as men. He said that it was difficult to realise the amount of history that lay behind the passing of the Bill. “I am proud,” he said, “to think it has been given to the Conservative Party to secure the triumph of that cause. I believe in the years to come that it will not be reckoned the least achievement of our great party.”
