ANNUAL MEETING.
Palmerston North, May 12.
Officers elected at the annual meeting of the Manawatu Fruitgrowers’ Association were as follow: —President, Mr. J. Jf. Johansen; vice-presi-dent, Mr. F. IL Outrain; committee, Messrs. J. G. Mayo, E. R. Rush, M. B. Ellis, A. Matthews, N. P. Ryan and 8. Chrystall; secretary and treasurer, Mr. T. E. Conway: auditor, Mr. A. E. Mansford. Mr. Conway was elected delegate to the provincial conference at Grey town bn May 25. The annual report stated that the association was in a - sound financial position, there being a credit balance of £93 IGs. lOd. The most serious question of the year had been the fireblight, which disease had found its way into the district and had been successfully combated by the destruction of hawthorn hedges in the commercial area.
