There was nothing particularly exciting about the Y.M.C.A.—Wesley match, by the end of which Y.M.C.A. were defeated by four goals to two. For the greater of the first spell, the play was centred in the Y.M.C.A. area, where the Webley men worked hard. After some time the Wesley players, whose passing shots were good, shot a, neat goal. Play still kept up in the Y.M.C.A.’s area, until shortly before half-time, when it went to the other end of the field, after which Y.M.C.A. equalised the score. In the second spell, Wesley continued to attack their, opponents’ goal, with the result that another score was added to their account. Y.M.C.A. rallied, and it was not long before they had netted again. Y.M.C.A. were not combining too well, and there was too much individual work.
