KARORI CLUB SEASON CONCLUDES.

The official closing of the Karori Municipal Croquet greens and the pre- , sentation of trophies w r on during the past season took place on May 2. There was a large attendance of members and honorary members. Mrs. F. Dryden, president, Mrs. Cook, bon. president, and Mrs. Burn, wife of the club patron, were presented with bouquets of flowers. A letter was read from Lady Johnston, regretting her inability to be present. , Councillor Burn congratulated the club on the success of the season, which had been one of the happiest the club has known, and to him fell the pleasure of presenting the prizes. The following is a list of the winners: —Yankee singles, A grade, Mrs. Lowery; runner up, Mr. Boocbck , (Mrs. Lewis’s trophy). Yankee | singles. B grade: Mrs. Phillips (Mrs. | Bird's trophy) ; runner-up, Mrs. Lead- | better. Champion singles: Mrs. Low- i ery (Mr. Burn’s trophy and Lady Johnston’s Cup) ; runner-up, Mrs. I Butcher (Mrs. H. Dryden’s trophy). | Champion singles, B. grade: Mrs. i Leadbeater (club cup and Mr. Burns’ tropbv) ; runner-up, Mrs. Ballinger. Handicap singles: Mrs. Butcher (Hamilton vase and Mrs. F. Dryden’s trophy); runner-up, Mrs. Lewis (Mrs. Lowery’s trophy). Handicap singles, B grade: Mrs. McGowan (Mrs. Wallace’s trophy); runner-up, Mrs. Dwyer Mrs. Sedgwick’s trophy). Handicap doubles: Mrs. Lowery (Mrs. Sedgwick’s trophy) and Mrs. H. Dryden (Mrs. Lowery's trophy); runners-up, Mrs. Waters ad Phillips. Lady Johnston's trophy for the most consistent break-maker, was won by Mrs. ’Waters. B grade highest break (Mrs. Pollock’s trophy) was won by Mrs. Phillips. Competition bobs was won by Mrs. Bradnock.

Gifts to Mrs. Dryum (president), Mrs. Keenan (bon. secretary), Mrs. Butcher (captain), and Mrs. Swiney (treasurer) were made by the club, and a presentation was also made to Mr. Eagle, the caretaker, who is retiring on superannuation.
