FIRE BRIGADES
ASSOCIATION MEETING. An executive meeting of the United Fire Brigades’ Association has been held in Wellington. The members waited upon the Hon. F. J. Rolleston, Acting-Minister of Internal Affairs, in connection with the restoration of the full privileges of the association, aud were accorded a very sympathetic hearing by the Minister and au early reply. They also waited upon Dr. Strong, Director of Education, sjylth a view to having a course of fire prevention’ lessons and fire drill included in the school syllabus. Dr. Strong has agreed to adopt the suggestions. The visitors were given a demonstration of drill by the Wellington Fire Brigade. Warm praise was forthcoming, and Captain Watts and Superintendent Freeman (advisory superintendent and president of the U.F.8.A.) thanked Superintendent Creeke and his staff for the demonstration, stating that they had seen nothing finer in the Dominion.
