SAVILE CUP CHANGES HANDS BY Telegraph.—Press association Christchurch, March 23. The Savile Cup, virtually the polo championship of the Dominion, was won by Christchurch A team to-day when it defeated Pareora by 9 goals to 7 after an excellent game. With the exception of 1925, when Hawke’s Bay did not compete, this is the first occasion for 35 years on which a South Island team has won the cup, which has been held almost continuously by Hawke’s Bay since 1917. / The junior cup was won by Christchurch B, who defeated- Feildiug by 11 goals to 2.
