GREYMOUTH DIAMOND JUBILEE
From February 26 to March 3 Grcrnioiith is expected to be a scene of gaiety mid rejoicing in celebration of its diamond jubilee. A full programme has been arranged for each day during the carnival week, the principal attractions being trotting races (on Feb''uary 25 and 27), athletic sports, military and naval display, torchlight procession, balls, dinners, historical pageants, etc. The Railway Department has arranged to run the 9.45 a.m express train (connecting with ferry steamship from Wellington) from Christchurch to Greymouth dailv from February 23 to 28 inclusivs. From February 20 to 27 old identities of Westland and their relatives may obtain tickets at holiday excursion rates from any North Island station to Greymouth on production of a certificate signed by the secretary of tho Celebrations Committee. . A general issue of holiday excursion tickets from Christchurch to Greymouth will bo mado from Friday, February 21, tn. Mondur, February 27. In each case liekets will bo available for return up to and including March 10, 1928.
